Health Fund Rebate

As Barefoot Babes (Hana Priest) is a Yoga Australia registered member and a registered provider of yoga services, you are eligible to claim a rebate for your yoga classes if you are with one of the below listed health funds and have the appropriate level of cover. Please read the details below, as each fund has different criteria for submitting a claim.

If you have Wellness Cover with HBF, HBF refunds $75 per Yoga Program. A program is a minimum of eight sessions within a three month period. You may claim up to $400 per calendar year. (This information is correct as at May 2013.)

In the context of the Barefoot Babes courses, this means that you would need to complete one 6 week course and attend a further 2 classes in the 6 weeks following the course, to be able to make a claim.

If you have completed 8 classes within 3 months, then please contact Hana at Barefoot Babes, to receive a receipt for the classes, that you may then submit to HBF.

Australian Unity Health only offers yoga class rebates for its members who have the “Life Choice” or “Life Choice Plus” Extras Tables. One part of these tables is Health Management Services (HMS).

To be entitled to the yoga class rebate, a health practitioner must certify that yoga is necessary for treatment of a specific condition, not just health and wellbeing. When yoga students make a claim for the rebate, they are required to submit a claim form to AUH, attach the yoga teacher’s receipt and also the health practitioner’s certification.
